Meetings aren’t necessarily something you can look forward to working in an office, although this is a relative condition.
The layout of a pleasant working atmosphere and the design of an office that makes everyone feel relaxed has a lot to do with how a meeting goes and how it is viewed.
Several offices have decided to give this specific environment a creative twist and some of the most exciting designs you can find are the designs they display now.
Red Bull Office
The workers at Mexico City’s Red Bull office are offering a friendly atmosphere to visit. Their meeting area is characterized by a fake grass rug with swings and bean bag chairs. This is a very relaxing place, linked to the rest of the work spaces and perfect when used as a hang out zone.
Some meeting rooms at the office can look cheerful without any unusual features. This is the case for Chioco Design‘s Resignation Media department. The office in Austin, Texas, has a bright and spacious meeting room around a long table surrounded by stylish armchairs in various chromatic colors following complete renovation of the building.
The Barcelona Zamness office covers an area of 300 square meters and is built for the most part as an open space. The glazed façade fills all areas with natural light to create a bright and appropriate working environment. Yellow has been chosen in a color accent. You can see it in the meeting room on some of the walls where it highlights the bold nature of the decor. The design was Nook Architects project.
Architect Henegan Peng decided to organize the room into several different nooks and pods while designing the Airbnb offices in Dublin. The individual pods used as meeting rooms have been designed to incorporate all kinds of interesting features from all over the world.
Fairphone Head Office
For Fairphone group, sustainability is very critical, their headquarters in Amsterdam was a Melinda Delst Interior Design project and certainly reflects this detail. The office covers an area of 1300 square meters and provides beautiful views, has an open plan and uses a selection of recycled materials that are environmentally friendly. For example, reclaimed wood and glass form the meeting area in the shape of a cube.
Using very basic techniques, you can achieve an eye-catching project. Nicolas Maino Gaete’s Autogasco Headquarters in Chile integrates a metal and glass conference area within the open plan as a separate volume. A complex geometric pattern of intersecting lines decorates the glass walls.
In the meeting room of Autodesk’s Pier 9 Laboratory in San Francisco, the key piece of furniture is a custom-made table with a metal frame that also includes six seats. The rounded base makes it possible to use this whole piece as a big swing. Lundberg Engineering introduced this unique concept here.
In the case of the WeWork London office built by Oktra, creating an engaging and relaxing work environment seems to have been the priority. Jakarta Praise Community Church
When designing the Jakarta Praise Community Office, color also plays an important role. The design was undertaken in 2013 by Sidharta Architect and was conceived as a formal and informal meeting space. The design had to be versatile, but it had to stand out as well. Leo Burnett HQ

Blitz Architects planned the space with the ground floor comprising the reception area and the basement level hosting a number of individual work nooks and informal meeting spaces. The two floors are connected by a vertical moss wall.
Gensler Chicago Office
The Gensler Chicago office knows how the idea will materialize. Meeting rooms here are quite simple, use neutral colors and have no attractive features except for the writing on the glass walls. An inspiring quote is sometimes all you need for work to be done.
The Walmart office in Sao Paulo was founded by Estudio Guro Requena in 2013. Located in Sydney, Fujitsu Oceania Headquarters is a 9,000 square meter space arranged on nine floors designed by Woods Bagot. The Japanese heritage of the organization is subtly referenced across the office through items such as folded graphic motifs and timber sheets. The meeting rooms have a graphic design and are designed with smoked oak timber cladding.
The San Francisco office of Microsoft was designed in partnership with Fennie+MEHL Architects and its purpose at the time was to serve as a place where the innovators of the business would collaborate with specialists to develop new and unexpected product designs. The goal was to turn a building of brick and wood into the inspiring collaborative office that you see here.
Conde Nast Entertainment Office
The Conde Nast Entertainment Office has several different types of meeting rooms. Located in New York and designed by TGP Architects, the office has over 20 conference rooms spread over three floors, each with its own style and character, ranging from classic sophistication to quirky architectural charm in the mid-century.
The contrast between the crisp white walls and the earthy colors of the wooden table and chairs is what makes this meeting room so unique within the Decom offices in Venray, the Netherlands. Nu interieur built the room. Their goal was to create open environments for all departments and work with classic design and retro accents.
Thumbtack San Francisco Headquarters
When asked to design the Thumbtack San Francisco headquarters without making it look like an office, Boor Birdges Architecture faced an interesting challenge. The customer wanted a space that was more like a home. As a result, custom furniture had to be introduced by the team and innovative and unorthodox. The work area that looks like a casual living room is a symbolic space for this office.
The meeting room of the u2i office, located in Krakow, Poland and designed by Morpho Studio, definitely knows how to be stylish. The elegance of these spaces is due to the use of the wallpaper, the soft earthy hue of the carpet and the mix of dark green and yellow office chairs set around the white table. D&B Cloud Innovation Center
Using wood in an interior design to create a warm, pleasant and inviting atmosphere is a common practice and strategy that Evoke International Design also used to develop the D&B Cloud Innovation Center’s new Vancouver offices. In tandem with polished concrete floors, a palette of textured hickory wood paneling was used throughout the room as a way to create a contrast.
Schlaich Bergermann and Partner office
There’s a lot that could be said about the luxurious meeting room inside the Stuttgart office of Schlaich Bergermann and Partner. The room was designed by Ippolito Fleit Group and in a very harmonious and elegant way blends a variety of styles. In perfect sync, the walls, the light fixture, the curtains and almost everything else.
Size is not inherently what defines a space, and this is precisely what this small meeting room within the Dentsu office reveals. The office has been planned by Praxis and is based in India. The textured exposed stone wall and its curvature bring character to the space while the framed artwork links it through color to the rest of the office.
Dropbox New York
A similar design approach has been used in New York City’s Dropbox offices. This was design by STUDIOS venture that takes advantage of exposed brick and wooden flooring. The meeting room, like a residential living room, is designed as a casual space.
Skyscanner wanted the room to show their originality when moving to a new office in Budapest, Hungary. They partnered with Madilancos Studio to provide it with a fresh model capable of representing the business to the smallest detail. A defining feature is the use of bold colors and artistic pictures, especially for meeting rooms.
The San Francisco Headquarters of Pinterest was a massive and inspiring venue. Schwartz’s Architecture design combined casualness with functions and neutral colours, audacious accentuations and contrasting materials. The project blends casuality with usability.
